MEETING MINUTES
September 12, 2019
Attendees: Renee, Joe, Wayne, Fred, Debbie Bridges; Patty (remote, via Google Meet)
Called to order 2:00 pm
1. BBHOA initial communication on transition was emailed to the members who have email addresses and was snail-mailed to the rest. Good responses were received after the transition email was sent. Several members have indicated they will send dues in early
2. Road Dispute
a. Communications with Surveyor – emailed 2 weeks after giving $2500, asking for update; disappointing response; hasn’t looked at any document; he seemed to be aware that time was of the essence; the longer he drags his feet, the larger the financial risk because Tammy and developers have no financial incentive to help pay for the survey
b. Timing for Road Dedication – needs to be in the paper by Oct 12 to make the November meeting; Joe suggested that when we meet with them on Tuesday that they give us a written
Discussion whether new buyers will be obligated to cooperate.
3. Preparation for Meeting with Flowers Property Developers: The board discussed at length the strategy for meeting with the property developers.
4 By-law change discussion – Common Area definition; available for use by any person or their guests; and boat docks; so any empty boat slip can be used? Debbie is working on by-laws.
Discussion regarding the activities of the committee and if the committee should be seeking legal advice from an independent lawyer.
5. Questions/comments/closing – Discussion regarding annual meeting, in particular, the Rogers letter. Board members assured Wayne that there was no legitimacy to the letter. Wayne and Barb were disappointed that no one stood up for them at the meeting. Joe recalled that he spoke up at the meeting to say there was no basis or fact backing up the letter.
The Board will meet next with the Developers. Meeting scheduled for September 17 at noon.
